ODA 5th Annual Conference

- Share - Connect - Grow -

22-23 October, 2009
Novotel St Kilda
Upper Esplanade, St Kilda

ODA is delighted to invite you to join us for our 5th annual conference to be held by the seaside in St Kilda. Come and join in a rich and stimulating two days with many opportunities to ‘Connect Share Grow'.

The Leadership Group is thrilled to announce our key note speaker for the conference as Amanda Sinclair.

Amanda Sinclair is the author of numerous articles and books including Doing Leadership Differently (1998, 2004) and Leadership for the Disillusioned (2007) which argue for leadership that increases freedom for people, both followers and leaders. With colleagues, she has pioneered new approaches to teaching, practising and researching leadership, incorporating insights from meditative traditions, mindfulness research and her work as a yoga teacher. Amanda is Foundation Professor of Management (Diversity and Change), Melbourne Business School, The University of Melbourne.

For our conference, Amanda will describe some of the work she has been doing in Mindful Leadership, discuss some of the effects and will include some experiential practices of mindfulness with the group.

More details on the entire conference program will follow shortly. You can keep across conference developments through our website and by being on our e-mail list.

In the meantime lock in the 22nd & 23rd October in your diary for a refreshing learning experience. Hope to see you there!

About Us

Who are we?

Organisation Development Australia (ODA) is a not-for-profit organisation founded in Victoria in 1998. Members come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, with a common goal of strengthening social capital in organisations.

We work to develop more productive and creative workplaces recognising that the successful completion of all work involves effective relationships and human interaction.

We serve people at all system levels, ranging from individuals and groups to organisations, communities and ultimately the global community.

What do we provide?

We provide regular forums where we can meet to enrich our personal and professional skills by:

  • Sharing knowledge - theories, concepts, models, exercises and experience that we have gained through our individual careers.
  • Creating a safe, supportive environment to learn more about group dynamics - exploring unconscious group processes and our ability to handle them.
Sharing 'what's worked for us' in our own practice.
  • Enhancing and growing our professional network.

Our intended way of working

  • We promote experiential action oriented learning.
  • We aim to ensure there is congruence between the values we espouse and the values we actually use.
  • We aim to create a generous spirited environment where people feel respected and safe to be authentic and one in which conflict can be effectively worked with.
  • We understand that learning can take place at many levels and over different time frames.

ODA supports the Organization and Human Systems Development Credo developed by the Organizational Development Network. View the Credo.
