What is OD? I work in OD. How do I explain what I do?
How many times have you pondered how to respond?
Come and join us as we explore this perennial question! It is time to reConnect with your OD colleagues, Share our understanding of OD from the past to the present to Grow a shared picture of this field of endeavour whilst we strengthen our ability to communicate what it is we do - and just how it can impact organisations and people! The Leadership Group welcome you to the start of an exciting year with your peers in an evening of exploration of what it means to work in organisation development. Where did this intriguing, challenging, frustrating, satisfying, rewarding and (add your own adjective!) profession spring from?
In a Cafe style format engage with your peers to develop further understanding of the many complexities that we experience in our various roles and organisations. What do these experiences tell us about OD? What do we say when someone asks us "What do you do?" Whether it be the CEO in the lift or the stranger at the BBQ, what can we say that will make sense to the uninitiated - and even to some of us already initiated?! You just may leave this evening with a script that will be your passport to .....(fill in your dream!)
Your facilitators for the evening are:
| Kaliopi Tsousis, ODA President Kaliopi is now in her third year as ODA president and, like Denis, can be spotted in the above as well as at cafes and vintage stores! In between she works with Victoria Legal Aid in an OD role. |
|
| Denis McIvor, ODA Secretary Denis is now in his third year as ODA secretary and between meetings can be found masquerading as a freelance consultant providing OD services to various clients and tutoring in the hallowed halls of academia although, more likely, he is to be spotted emerging from a cinema, arts venue or bookstore. |
